What should I do if I feel suicidal?
If you feel you are at risk of suicide, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room right away.
If you are not at risk of harming yourself for the moment, but you still feel hopeless and helpless, there is someone waiting to talk with you right now. Don't want to talk? You can text instead. Sometimes it can even help to read about suicide to know that you are not alone, even though it may feel that way.
Do not dismiss suicidal feelings—risk of suicide is an emergency situation. People are waiting to help, they just need you to reach out and make contact.
